Within the realm of the SoS project, we offer a one-year postdoctoral position, to work with Éric Colin de Verdière and Alfredo Hubard at the computer science laboratory of Marne-la-Vallée, in the East of Paris, possibly also with Lionel Pournin in Villetaneuse, in the North of Paris. Candidates in fields of mathematics (geometry, topology) or computer science (discrete and computational geometry and topology) are sought. The unifying theme of the project is surfaces and structures on them, from a combinatorial and/or algorithmic perspective, broadly understood. Further collaborations with our other partners of this project, in Nancy (Monique Teillaud, Vincent Despré, Sylvain Lazard) and Luxembourg (Jean-Marc Schlenker, Hugo Parlier) will be highly encouraged and the successful candidate will be given travel funds for regular visits at the partner institutions.
Applications received before January 15th, 2019 are ensured to receive full consideration but the postdoc position will be open until a suitable candidate is found. The date of the beginning of the contract is highly flexible, between a few months from now and March 2021.
Salary: 2200 € or slightly above depending on experience, including health insurance, excluding income taxes.
